Machine Operator

STMicroelectronics is an Italian-French company based in Geneva (Switzerland), producing semiconductor electronic components. The STMicroelectronics Malta site has been established 40 years ago and currently employs approximately 1,700 employees.

The Malta site is seeking to employ Machine Operators. The selected candidates will work on automatic machines with a full-time employment contract. Previous experience is not necessary - you would work independently after an initial training period of 3-4 months. Free transport to and from the Company will be provided.

The tasks of a Machine Operator include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining the factory machinery;
• Carrying out routine maintenance;
• Gaining a thorough knowledge of a wide range of factory machinery;
• Operating tools in order to aid in the manufacturing process;
• Performing periodic checks on equipment and solving problems as detected;
• Working with others in order to ensure that the equipment is in proper working order;
• Observing and following company safety rules and regulations.

Ideal candidates shall have the following characteristics:

• Availability to work on a 4 shift basis including day and night shifts, also on weekends;
• Acting responsibly and knowing how to coordinate well with colleagues and with other departments;
• Strong motivation to achieve goals;
• Compliance with safety regulations;
• Proactivity, reliability, and professionalism;
• Basic knowledge of the English language.
