Cutting Machine Operator

Our clients are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Cutting Machine Operator to join our stone production line. You will be responsible for operating bridge saws, block cutters, and secondary cutting machinery to accurately slice and size large blocks and slabs of marble, granite, and natural stone. This role involves shift work, including evening shifts, so flexibility is essential.

Duties and responsibilities are but not limited to:

• Set up, calibrate, and operate automated and semi-automated cutting machines
• Review job orders and slab layouts
• Safely position and secure massive stone slabs onto the cutting bed
• Control, adjust, and monitor machine settings during the cutting cycle
• Inspect cut slabs and pieces with measuring tapes and squares to ensure strict adherence to required dimensions
• Fix minor mechanical issues and perform daily maintenance 
• Keep records of daily output, slab yields, and any defective or cracked stone.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a machine operator, ideally operating saws, cutting machines, or basic CNC equipment.
• Strong understanding of measuring tools
• Familiarity with the physical properties of stone, marble, and granite 
• Strict adherence to health and safety regulations 
• Strong teamwork and communication skills 
• Physical stamina and strength
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings.
