The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Legal Counsel to join Betsson Group’s Legal Team. In this role, you will provide practical, commercially-focused legal advice across multiple business areas, working closely with the rest of the organisation to support various departments, including Compliance, Internal Affairs, and Tech. You will be responsible for structuring, reviewing, and drafting a wide range of agreements, while ensuring legal risks are effectively mitigated and business objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal teams to provide legal advice on tech, security, facilities, HR, corporate, litigation, and compliance-related matters.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review contracts with service providers, ensuring that agreements align with Betsson Group’s business strategy.
  • Advise on legal risks, provide clear analysis, and propose solutions that support business objectives.
  • Manage ongoing contracts and ensure proper legal processes are followed.
  • Collaborate with the Legal and Compliance teams, offering legal expertise on various matters as required by the business.
  • Potential for international travel to support global operations and legal requirements.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with a law degree/LLM from a reputable European university.
  • 4+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the online gaming industry.
  • Strong experience in reviewing and drafting contracts related to tech, security, HR, corporate, litigation, and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of the online gaming industry, particularly in terms of regulation and commercial practices.
  • Proven ability to provide practical legal guidance in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Strong experience in negotiating and drafting complex legal transactions.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a tight-knit team.

Desirable Skills

  • Dual qualification in common and civil law jurisdictions.
  • Admission to the Bar in one or more EU jurisdictions.
  • Experience in handling legal matters related to tech, security, corporate, HR, and facilities.
  • Previous exposure to litigation and dispute resolution.
