A reputable client of ours, specialising in the Financial and Corporate sector is looking to onboard a Senior Legal Counsel to join their team of professionals:
Duties:
Provide proactive legal advice and support to senior management and business units.
Oversee and manage all legal aspects of the firm’s operations, including transactional, deal and contract matters, as well as liaise with the AMLRO, and risk officer.
Together with the CEO, develop and implement the legal strategy aligned with the firm’s business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and strategic advantage for clients.
Provide timely and accurate advice on complex legal issues related to transactions, regulatory matters, and industry-specific challenges.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing high-level legal counsel and support.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, demonstrating a deep understanding of their business needs and industry challenges.
Ensure the firm’s operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Implement robust corporate governance frameworks and practices.
Draft, negotiate, and review transactional documents and complex commercial agreements.
Collaborate in managing the legal department budget, and prepare and present legal reports to senior management.
Manage litigation and dispute resolution matters, collaborating with external counsel and experts as needed, and mitigate legal risks and liabilities effectively.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years PQE in Corporate and Commercial law; This is a non negotiable reuirement.
Extensive experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing transactional documents and complex commercial agreements
Familiarity with international legal frameworks and cross-border transactions
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Previous experience in the yachting industry would be considered an asset
Proficiency in MS Office suite, mainly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Education and Experience
Must hold a Degree in Law (or equivalent), and be locally warranted
