Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Lawyer specialising in real estate and construction law to join the team. The successful candidate will provide strategic legal advice on property and construction matters, oversee complex transactions, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. This role demands strong negotiation abilities, in-depth knowledge of property and construction law, and the capability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate agreements including purchase, lease, financing, development, and construction contracts.
• Due Diligence: Conduct thorough legal assessments on property acquisitions to identify risks and compliance requirements.
• Legal Advisory: Provide informed guidance on legal obligations, potential liabilities, and risk mitigation strategies in real estate transactions.
• Transaction Oversight: Manage property closings, ensuring all steps align with statutory and regulatory standards.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Advise internal teams, liaise with external counsel, and coordinate with regulatory authorities as needed.
• Industry Awareness: Monitor developments in property law and offer proactive advice to the business.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Education: Law degree with a warrant to practice law in Malta.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in real estate law, with proven exposure to a range of property-related matters.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of both Maltese and English is required.
• Communication Skills: Ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively to clients and colleagues.
• Interpersonal Skills: Build and maintain trustful relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the business.
• Technical Skills: Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical capabilities specific to property law.
• Organisation: Efficiently manage multiple transactions and deadlines with meticulous attention to detail.
• Self-Motivated: Proactive and able to take initiative in identifying and resolving legal issues.
• Problem-Solving: Skilled in analysing challenges and providing practical, effective solutions.
