Malta Financial Services Authority is currently looking to recruit a Legal Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.
About the Department:
The Insurance and Pensions Supervision is responsible for the prudential supervision of insurance companies, insurance intermediaries, retirement schemes, retirement funds and retirement service providers. The team employs professionals with a varied background and comprises skills relating to insurance, pensions, accounting, legal, quantitative analysis, actuarial, compliance and others.
About the Role

About You:
We are looking for lawyers in possession of a warrant to practice the legal profession in Malta, with a sound knowledge of financial services legislation and familiarity with the financial services regulatory framework. A relevant postgraduate Degree would be considered as an advantage. Possession of a postgraduate degree in a discipline relevant to the financial services sector would be considered an asset.
The role requires a University of Malta Degree in Law (LL.D or Master of Advocacy level) or a comparable recognised legal qualification at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC). You will also possess a minimum of three (3) years working in a legal environment and/or within the financial services area for several years. Candidates with longer working experience relevant to the role will be preferred.
If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but you have at least seven (7) years working experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you. Candidates with longer working experience relevant to the role will be preferred.
