We are seeking a motivated Legal Counsel to join our Legal team, focusing on contracts vetting and compliance with property law and lending regulations. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a junior professional to gain valuable experience by collaborating with internal departments, notaries, and other external stakeholders. As part of our team, you will help safeguard the Bank’s interests and ensure operational efficiency while contributing to the success of our legal operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing mortgage and lending facility files to ensure property titles and security arrangements meet compliance standards.
  • Working closely with notaries to track document status and resolve any outstanding requirements.
  • Representing the Bank in various legal matters, including loan agreements, waivers, postponements, cancellations, and subrogations, both on-site and off-site.
  • Managing post-deed procedures to ensure compliance and proper follow-through.
  • Providing legal advice and guidance to internal departments on property-related matters.
  • Assisting the Legal Department with contracts and other legal tasks as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • A valid warrant as a Notary or Lawyer, or a Law graduate close to obtaining warrant.
  • Experience in contracts vetting, ideally within the financial or banking sector or a reputable legal firm/notarial office.
  • A solid understanding of notarial legislation and civil law.
  • Strong analytical abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the capacity to work independently.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
