Duties and responsibilities
The Head of Contracts Vetting Unit will be responsible for:

  • Mentor and Lead: Inspire, guide, and manage a high-performing team, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and smooth execution of all processes within the Unit
  • Innovate and Ensure Excellence: Enhance workflows, efficiency, and accuracy whilst taking charge of quality assurance for documents issued by the Unit, ensuring they meet legal and regulatory requirements and align with approvals and Bank standards
  • Collaborate & Connect: Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and seamless collaboration to meet Bank and customer expectations
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department in the interest of ensuring the smooth running of the Unit and the Legal Department.

Competencies and experience:

  • Experience: Proven experience leading a team within a legal, financial, or regulatory environment. A strong background in credit agreements, contract drafting and process optimization is essential
  • Leadership: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem Solver: A proactive and creative mindset, always looking for ways to enhance processes while ensuring full compliance with legal and regulatory standards
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Maltese, together with the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external partners
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Qualifications: A Degree in Law, Banking & Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
