Premier Capital is seeking to recruit a Data Protection Officer to assume responsibility for advising the group and its local subsidiary Premier Restaurants Malta Limited on privacy-related matters, raising awareness and driving its General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance program.
The Data Protection Officer shall also be responsible for coordinating with and providing support to other subsidiaries of the company in overseas markets, and embedding a strong privacy culture across Premier Capital.
Based in Malta and reporting to the Chief Operations Officer and the Board of Directors, the Data Protection Officer will review contracts for data processing provisions and conduct impact assessments for new systems, identifying any gaps for better compliance with GDPR and review and update policies and procedures, ensuring that processes, vendors and assets are mapped out and that employees receive appropriate data protection training.

THE REQUIREMENTS:
The preferred candidate will have at least three years of experience in a similar senior role and will preferably have a university qualification in a relevant field such as law or IT. A strong background in managing people is essential. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, in possession of excellent management and communication skills and able to interact with employees at all levels, clients and authorities. IAPP qualifications and familiarity with OneTrust will be considered assets. The selected candidate will be required to travel frequently as part of their responsibilities.
