Are you passionate about cooking and eager to share the rich flavours of traditional Maltese cuisine? We are a long-established family restaurant dedicated to preserving the culinary heritage of Malta and are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Sous Chef to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring the highest food quality
  • Help in the preparation and presentation of traditional Maltese dishes
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain efficiency and a positive work environment
  • Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are met consistently
  • Contribute to menu development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and traditional recipes
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, sharing your knowledge of Maltese cuisine.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a relevant culinary role, preferably in traditional Maltese or Mediterranean cuisine
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Excellent culinary skills and creativity, with a passion for Maltese cooking
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to motivate and inspire the kitchen team
  • Fluency in Maltese and/or English is an advantage.
