Sous Chef

SOHO Office Space in Malta is currently recruiting a Sous Chef to join their Catering team, on a full-time basis!

Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a passion for Food & Beverage and considers customer satisfaction a top priority. On offer is a competitive salary and a great work-life balance, as the majority of the working hours will be 7:00 - 16:00 from Monday - Friday.

There is also the opportunity to increase earnings further by catering for private functions and some evening events hosted on the premises.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing the kitchen operations and day-to-day of the SOHO Lounge 
• Work with suppliers to order stock and equipment as required 
• Hands-on as well as overseeing the food preparations and presentation
• Collaborate on menu writing and engineering
• Maintaining the highest standard of hygiene in the kitchen and storage areas
• Promote a climate of positive work and motivate the team as and when required
• Work together with the Financial Controller in maintaining and updating the Catering accounts of in-house Members/Companies, Food & Beverage Suppliers, or any accounts required for Catering operations
• Attend to Members & Guests' needs by providing a courteous, friendly, attentive, and professional service
• Process transactions using the POS system
• Support Catering Assistants with preparing & serving coffees when needed.

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a Sous Chef (minimum 3 years)
• Knowledge of different cuisines
• Exceptional kitchen management skills
• Trained in H&S standards
• Flexible and available to work occasional evenings and weekends
• Outstanding communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Able to handle a fast-paced work environment
• Team player.
