Mercury Towers is adding to it’s already rich and exciting entertainment attractions portfolio with the opening of the Museum of Illusions which is a World renowned brand merging fun with mind bending interactive displays. 

This is in addition to the already operational Odyssey Malta, which features an immersive dark walk experience through Malta’s History, a unique flying theatre ride and panoramic views from the top of Malta’s tallest building. 

JOB OVERVIEW:

As part of the team, the Entertainment Attractions Shift Leader will take pride in their ability to deliver a positive, enjoyable experience for customers, while meeting business aims and maintaining safety standards at all times. Reporting directly to the Entertainment Attractions Manager, this person will support him/her in overseeing the day’s operation at ‘Odyssey Malta’ or the ‘Museum of Illusions’ at the Mercury Towers complex during their shift. He/she will be supporting and sharing part of the responsibilities for aspects of day-to-day operations, including key functions such as managing customer experience; monitoring health and safety; and staff management. This person will ultimately be responsible for bringing the brand vision to life, through the seamless delivery of our mission, vision and values.  

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintaining the attraction's merchandise areas in a clean, organized and visually appealing manner
  • During your shift hours, in the absence of your superiors, you will lead the team on duty to perform the duties as instructed by management
  • Through your experience and insight into the daily operation, actively give suggestions to your immediate superior on how to improve the operation and customer satisfaction
  • Warmly welcoming clients and assisting them through the various phases of the experience
  • Providing clients with information about the attraction and other related products
  • Managing queues to various parts of the experience in a professional and hospitable manner
  • Take and manage bookings to the attraction
  • Operating a POS system and precisely handling various payment methods
  • Ensuring that the scheduled experience timelines are followed to avoid customer dissatisfaction whilst also maximizing the potential occupancy per scheduled experience
  • Following Standard Operating Procedures systematically
  • Strictly implementing Health and Safety Procedures and ensuring that colleagues and customers are adhering to these
  • Maintain a variety of logs, records, and files, and prepare reports related to assigned activities
  • Ensure that your workspace is equipped with all necessities for the day and that all equipment required is in good working order
  • Keeping your work areas clean and tidy in accordance with company guidelines
  • Constant communication with management to ensure smooth operations
  • Assist Management with additional front-of-house assignments as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exceptional customer service
  • Leadership skills and ability to give instructions in a concise, firm and respectful manner
  • Patience and clear communication. This is a unique establishment that guests may have not experienced, and you must be able to communicate in a detailed, engaging and respectful manner
  • Attention to detail
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude and professional demeanour and appearance
  • Must be computer literate
  • Ability to learn systems to maintain orderly information
  • A high level of commitment to understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures and Health and Safety Procedures with attention to detail
  • High energy with the ability to multitask successfully
  • Availability to consistently work weekends and public holidays
  • Ability to work standing for hours at a time and with shifts which are as long as required for rostering purposes. Statutory unpaid breaks are given in accordance with the length of the shift
  • Understanding and communicating (both verbal and written) clearly in English with the correct use of grammar
  • Fluency in a European language apart from English
  • Must possess previous experience at the supervisory level
  • Previous experience working in the hospitality industry is considered as an asset
  • Candidate must be residing in Malta.
