We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate Commis Chef to join our kitchen team, supporting the Head Chef in delivering high-quality dishes and maintaining smooth kitchen operations.
Commis Chef – Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations & Food Preparation
Assist the Head Chef and senior kitchen team in the preparation and cooking of dishes
Prepare ingredients, sauces, and basic food items according to recipes and kitchen standards
Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all food prepared
Support the kitchen team during service to ensure timely delivery of dishes
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations throughout shifts
Food Safety & Hygiene
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times
Ensure food preparation areas, kitchen equipment, and storage areas are kept clean and compliant with HACCP standards
Properly label, store, and rotate stock in line with food safety regulations
Assist in monitoring food temperatures and storage conditions
Stock & Kitchen Support
Help with receiving and storing deliveries correctly
Assist in stock rotation and minimising food wastage
Inform the Head Chef of stock shortages or kitchen maintenance issues
Support with daily kitchen opening and closing procedures
Teamwork & Development
Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude
Be willing to learn new cooking techniques and kitchen procedures
Follow instructions efficiently and contribute to a high-performance kitchen environment
Work Schedule
• 40 hours per week, scheduled according to restaurant opening hours
• Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Experience Required
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Commis Chef or Sous Chef
• Proven experience in Italian and/or Greek cuisine (mandatory)
• Experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Experience in restaurant opening operations will be considered an asset
Qualifications & Certifications
• Diploma in Food Preparation or Culinary Arts (preferred)
• Valid Food Handling Licence
• Basic First Aid Certification
• Basic Fire Safety Certification
Knowledge & Skills
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent knowledge of Italian and/or Greek cuisine techniques and ingredients
• Strong cost-control and stock-management abilities
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Excellent organisational and multitasking skills

• Professional communication skills
• Fluent in English (mandatory)
• Knowledge of Greek or Italian language will be considered an asset
