Bar Helper

Elba Restaurant in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Bar Helper to join their team on a full-time basis.

Overview:
Elba Restaurant is looking for a Bar Helper to support our Bartenders and our staff to ensure a smooth operation of the bar and provide an excellent customer service. You will assist with bar opening and closing procedures and perform various behind-the-bar tasks, such as restocking the bar, preparing garnishes and maintaining a clean and organized bar area.

Responsibilities:

• Cleaning tables, counters and other bar areas
• Collecting empty glasses and bottles
• Restocking liquor bottles and changing kegs
• Stocking bar items such as glassware, straws, napkins, ice, garnishes, towels and cleaning supplies
• Preparing mixers, juices and cocktail garnishes
• Removing and disposing of bags from trash receptacles in and around the bar area
• Sweeping and mopping in and around the bar service area, wiping down surfaces, and scrubbing coolers and storage areas
• Learning about menu items and memorizing cocktail recipes
• Following directions from the Bartenders or Head bartender, and trying to anticipate their needs
• Providing excellent customer service by promptly attending to customer needs and requests
• Assisting Bartenders with taking customer orders and processing orders in the point-of-sale system during peak business hours.

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness and organization
• Team player with strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of menu items, including beers, wines, cocktails, and liquors
• Previous experience is required
• Ability to communicate in English (spoken and written).
