Aquarium Presenter
About This Job
We are looking for presentable and approachable individuals who are customer-oriented, enjoy working in a team and are comfortable speaking to the general public. The selected candidate must have excellent face-to-face communication skills, work under pressure and continuous willingness to learn. Candidates having knowledge of the biology of fish and customer-oriented roles will be given preference. Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours, which will include weekends and public holidays, and be able to clearly communicate in English. We are looking for both part-time and full-time positions.
What you’ll be doing
- Welcome and greet all visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Inform and educate guests about aquarium exhibits, marine life, and conservation topics
- Conduct guided tours and deliver presentations to groups, including schools and organised visits
- Engage visitors of all ages with clear, enthusiastic, and informative communication
- Ensure guests have a positive, enjoyable, and memorable experience throughout their visit
- Respond to guest questions and provide accurate information
- Assist in managing visitor flow during peak periods
- Support events, educational activities, and special programmes as required
Malta National Aquarium Complex:
The Malta National Aquarium complex is spread over approximately 20,000 square meters and comprises a public aquarium, a public landscaped belvedere at promenade level, a multi-story car park, three catering facilities including a beach club, a merchandise outlet, and a tourist information kiosk. The public aquarium has 51 display tanks with, amongst others, Mediterranean fish, including fish commonly found in Maltese waters together with replicas of historical artifacts that one can find in the seas around the Maltese islands. All tanks are expertly themed to replicate the underwater environment. Additional features of the public aquarium include a classroom facility, interpretation, touch pools, a temporary exhibition space, veterinary and quarantine facilities, etc. Enhancing further the standard of the Malta National Aquarium Complex, one can find the legendry Cafe Del Mar from Ibiza for the reef pool area. The Café del Mar will bring a relaxing and entertaining tone in music to the reef area adding to the serenity of the reef area of the complex were every summer, thousands of tourists flock to the café to view the beautiful sunsets and listen to Café Del Mar’s signature chill out music.
