As the Chief Operations Officer (COO) will be part of the C-Suite and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The main responsibility will be to oversee the operations of the various business units and ensure that they function efficiently and effectively. The primary role will involve implementing strategies to drive growth, profitability and ensure operational excellence through innovation and new business development.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing operational strategies aligned with the overall goals and objectives. This involves analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Overseeing and coordinating the activities of different business units collaborating with business unit managers, providing guidance, and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic direction.
  • Establishing performance metrics and key performance indicators to evaluate business unit performance and identify improvement areas to implement necessary adjustments.
  • Ensuring the optimal allocation of resources across various departments and operational activities.
  • Identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing process improvement initiatives to enhance customer service, reduce costs, and optimize workflows. Look into implementing new technologies, streamlining procedures, or redesigning processes.
  • Analysing and interpreting data and leveraging insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Fostering effective communication and collaboration among different departments, promoting a cohesive and cooperative work environment
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for business growth and expansion. Outlining operational processes and identifying resource requirements for any new business units.
  • Interacting with external stakeholders to facilitate partnerships, negotiate contracts and maintain positive relationships.
  • Assessing and mitigating operational risks by implementing appropriate risk management strategies and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Leading the company's response to operational crises and emergencies and developing contingency plans in order to minimize the impact on operations.
  • Assessing the viability of opportunities leading to new business units and presenting to the CEO for consideration. Implementing these new business units into successful operations will be crucial.

 

Skill-sets and Requirements
  • Proven experience as a senior leader or executive in the B2C experience and ideally experience within the F&B industry.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, consumer trends, and competitive landscape in the F&B sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving operational excellence, process improvement, and business growth.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering outstanding results.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
