VoIP Systems Engineer

Melita Ltd in Malta is currently looking to recruit a VoIP Systems Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis.

Overview:

This technical role is focused on delivering Melita’s VoIP services to residential and business customers, in a consistent and reliable manner. You will be part of the Voice Networks team responsible for the correct installation, operation and maintenance of Melita’s state-of-the-art fixed telephony SIP platforms including Centrex functionality, the underlying IP network and local/international carrier interconnections, within Melita's technical operations centre.

Key responsibilities:

• Researching, recommending, and implementing technical solutions
• Troubleshooting of problems and providing timely corrective action
• Introducing new equipment while maintaining equipment under responsibility
• Report generation and data analysis
• Monitoring and analysing technical reports
• Preparing technical procedures and delivering training
• Scripting writing and amending existing scripts
• Prioritizing tasks according to the guidelines provided and focusing on priorities.

Job Requirements:

• A Degree level of education in ICT, IT, networking, telecommunications or equivalent
• Experience in a similar role is ideal, however junior candidates and those with NOC experience will also be considered
• Knowledge of, and experience with, SIP protocol (not mandatory)
• Knowledge on Cisco equipment and/or networking
• Knowledge of scripting in bash will be considered as an asset (not mandatory)
• Knowledge of MySQL and/or MariaDB will be considered as an asset
• Strong teamwork skills, attitude to learn and committed to achieving results
• A good command of the English language and strong email writing skills
• A valid driving license.
