Small Projects MEP Engineer

Malta International Airport is currently looking to recruit a Small Projects MEP Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis.

Overview:

This vacancy has arisen within the Technical Facilities – Engineering Department.

Purpose of Position:
To design, coordinate, and oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) projects and upgrades within the aerodrome, ensuring efficient integration, compliance, and optimal performance of systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design and manage small-scale MEP projects, ensuring integration with existing aerodrome infrastructure
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements
• Prepare cost estimates and manage budgets to keep projects within financial constraints
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and aerodrome management to achieve project objectives
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring quality and adherence to regulations
• Incorporate sustainable practices, such as energy-efficient technologies, into projects
• Prepare detailed documentation, including progress reports, as-built drawings, and handover materials
• Address technical issues during or after implementation to minimize operational disruptions.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering or equivalent
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and relevant industry standards
• Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with sustainability measures in engineering projects
• Proficiency in preparing technical documentation and cost estimations
• Willingness to attend training and work in a dynamic, operationally critical environment.
