Senior Mechanical / Electrical Engineer

An engineering consultancy is seeking to recruit a Senior Mechanical / Electrical Engineer. The selected candidate will be involved in a variety of projects related to mechanical and electrical building services, renewable energy systems, and ELV installations. The engagement may be on a full-time, part-time, or freelance/consultancy basis, depending on the candidate’s availability and experience.

The main responsibilities shall include:

• Preparing and reviewing mechanical and/or electrical engineering designs and technical drawings;

• Preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), technical specifications, and tender documentation;

• Reviewing technical proposals, contractor submissions, and engineering calculations;

• Designing and coordinating mechanical, electrical, HVAC, ELV, and renewable energy systems;

• Monitoring and reviewing contractors’ works and technical submittals to ensure compliance with specifications and standards;

• Supervising works on site as required and reporting progress to the relevant parties;

• Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and authorities regarding project coordination, scheduling, and deadlines;

• Leading and assisting in project management, cost control, and quantity verification;

• Carrying out technical assessments, inspections, testing, commissioning, and preparation of technical reports;

• Contributing to energy-efficient and sustainable engineering solutions across various projects;

• Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineering staff where required.

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field;

• Be in possession of an engineering warrant;

• Good knowledge and practical experience in the use of AutoCAD software;

• Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical building services systems;

• A clean driving licence;

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and liaise with various stakeholders;

• A proactive, solution-oriented approach and the ability to work on own initiative;

• Attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to quality.

Previous experience in engineering design, site supervision, project coordination, or building services engineering will be considered an asset. A good remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate.
