Job Summary:
The Mechanical Technician shall provide technical solutions and ensure the planning, installation and or maintenance of Mechanical Systems. Mechanical Technicians act as our go-to persons whilst on site to guide and monitor the team and to provide the required expertise and services to our clients, whether during new installations or aftersales.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Leading the commissioning activities of assigned mechanical projects on the different sites for domestic, commercial and/or industrial applications;
• Take a lead in planned and reactive maintenance and/or servicing on mechanical equipment including Fire Suppression systems, Wet firefighting systems such as sprinkler systems and fire pumps, dry risers, and the required pipe fitting;
• Ensure site installations by the mechanical team or Sub-Contractors meet company quality standards, specifications and drawings;
• Ensure that all test records are in accordance with the project quality compliance procedures;
• Provide solutions to troubleshooting – including the diagnosing of technical problems and suggest/carry out repairs to rectify problems;
• Interface and feedback to the Engineering department on any changes in design, whilst ensuring that works are in line with best practice and internal expert advice;
• Checking, ordering and/or preparing materials and equipment required for the commissioning of services, whilst raising requisitions when required;
• Promote safe working practices and take an active role in the Health, Safety and risk programs for work activities, whilst also ensuring compliance to internal H&S procedures;
• Ensure the proper commissioning and handing over of finished systems to clients in line with service expectations;
• Take active role in Research and development;
• Builds positive relationships with customers & applies excellent customer care at all times;
