Quoting Engineer

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quoting Engineer to join our team. This role is central to supporting business growth through the preparation of accurate, technically compliant, and commercially competitive quotations and tenders.

The successful candidate will act as the link between client requirements, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure high-quality and profitable project submissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Quotation & Tender Preparation
• Prepare detailed quotations and tender submissions in line with client requirements
• Develop accurate cost build-ups including equipment, labour, subcontractors, logistics, and overheads
• Clearly define scopes, exclusions, assumptions, and clarifications
• Prepare value-engineered alternatives where appropriate

Technical & Commercial Analysis

• Review specifications, drawings, and RFQs to identify technical and commercial risks
• Select suitable equipment and solutions together with suppliers and technical teams
• Ensure quotations are technically compliant and commercially competitive
• Highlight risks, deviations, and special conditions prior to submission

Supplier & Subcontractor Coordination

• Obtain pricing, technical data, and lead times from approved suppliers
• Evaluate subcontractor quotations against defined scopes
• Compare supplier pricing with benchmark and historical rates
• Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and subcontractors

Margin Control & Cost Accuracy

• Apply approved pricing strategies and margin targets
• Verify cost accuracy before quotation submission
• Ensure quotations align with agreed commercial conditions and payment terms
• Support post-award cost reviews and project handovers

Documentation &Systems Management

• Maintain quotation templates, costing tools, and records
• Ensure document accuracy and version control
• Coordinate with Design, Projects, and Aftersales teams where required
• Support clarification meetings with clients and consultants

Continuous Improvement

• Identify recurring pricing, supplier, or technical issues
• Recommend process and supplier framework improvements
• Support the expansion of the company’s product and solution portfolio

Requirements

Candidates should preferably have:

• Technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or Building Services Engineering
• Experience in estimating, quotations, or technical support within a similar industry
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Good understanding of materials, labour costing, and project execution
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Valid driving licence

Preferred but Not Mandatory

• Experience with HVAC, Electrical, or ELV systems
• MCAST qualification or equivalent technical certification
• Experience in site surveys and client coordination
