HireHound Recruitment in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Technician to join their client's team on a full-time basis.

Overview:

In this role, you will be responsible for the repair, preventive maintenance, testing, and commissioning of various mechanical and HVAC systems, including chillers, VRFs (Variable Refrigerant Flow systems), boilers, pumps, and air handling units (AHUs). While previous experience is valued, we provide both in-house and external training to ensure you are fully equipped to succeed in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Repair & Maintenance

  • Perform repair and preventive maintenance on mechanical and HVAC systems, including chillers, VRFs, boilers, pumps, and AHUs.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Conduct routine inspections and servicing to ensure systems are operating efficiently and reliably.

2. Testing & Commissioning

  • Test and commission new and existing mechanical systems to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
  • Calibrate and adjust system components to optimise performance and efficiency.
  • Document testing results and maintain detailed records of commissioning procedures.

3. System Upgrades & Improvements

  • Assist in the installation and upgrading of mechanical and HVAC systems as needed.
  • Recommend improvements and modifications to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices to apply the latest technologies and methods.

4. Training & Development

  • Participate in both in-house and external training programs provided by the company to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Apply learned techniques and practices to improve maintenance and repair processes.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred; other qualifications or relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Licenses such as Lic A, Lic B, or F-Gas are considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in mechanical and HVAC systems is an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and HVAC issues effectively.
  • Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is conducted in various environments, including commercial, industrial, and residential sites.
  • May involve lifting, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to ensure safety during maintenance and repair tasks.
