Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance across hotel and hospitality facilities. The role ensures that all mechanical, electrical, and general building systems are operating efficiently, safely, and in line with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and operational facilities.
  • Perform repairs related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, plastering, and general maintenance works.
  • Monitor and maintain pumps, motors, air-conditioning units, boilers, filtration systems, and other technical equipment.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
  • Support refurbishment and upgrade projects across hospitality properties.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Carry out routine inspections to identify faults and prevent equipment failure.
  • Maintain maintenance records and report issues to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised.

Requirements

  • Only candidates with Maltese nationality or EU citizenship will be considered for this role.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance technician or similar role within hospitality or commercial buildings.
  • Good knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Basic understanding of health & safety standards in a workplace environment.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and respond to emergencies when required.
  • Valid electrical licence/certification is considered an asset.
