Our client, a construction company in Malta, are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Civil Engineer. Reporting to the Projects Manager, your responsibilities will include the following:

• Prepare cost estimates for CIVIL/ARCHITECT works and generate Bid Documents for building projects, encompassing both new construction and refurbishment/restoration.

• Calculate labour, material, and related costs to determine project expenses.

• Supervise construction projects to ensure compliance with engineering designs and documents, confirming specifications.

• Monitor project progress, inspect construction sites, and verify calculations and placements to ensure adherence to construction specifications and safety standards.

• Validate design issues and propose alternative solutions.

• Guide operators to fulfill project requirements.

• Enforce project and operational policies and procedures to maintain operations.

• Stay updated on federal, state, and local legal requirements, anticipate future legislation, enforce adherence to requirements, and advise management on necessary actions.

• Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as needed.

• Direct, monitor, and control the activities of CIVIL/ARCHITECT Subcontractors.

• Liaise with Consultant CIVIL/ARCHITECT supervisory Engineers, Inspectors, and relevant staff.

• Ensure CIVIL/ARCHITECT Subcontractors provide and adhere to relevant Quality documentation/records.

• Ensure CIVIL/ARCHITECT Subcontractors adhere to Project safety regulations.

• Maintain the project database by entering data and completing backups.

 

Working Hours: Monday - Friday: 0800hrs - 1700hrs

 

Skill-sets and Requirements
  • Local experience within the industry is a must
  • Tender preparation Skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Design skills.
  • Site Development and Coordination skills.
  • Organisation and Planning skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in CIVIL/ARCHITECT engineering
  • A valid warrant to practice in Malta
  • 5 to 10 years of CIVIL/ARCHITECT engineering
