Architect and Civil Engineer
We are looking for an Architect and Civil Engineer to join our client's team. The selected candidate will be responsible for the management of construction projects and will be reporting to the Project Director and CEO.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a company focused on the construction and manufacture of building materials and is based in Naxxar, Malta.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyse and study detailed drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Discuss the objectives, requirements, and budget of a project and specify the nature and quality of materials.
- Raise requisition for the timely supply of materials & labour etc. to keep the progress in line with the target program.
- Conduct regular meetings with site supervisors and other contractors to discuss the day’s progress, achievements as well as future works.
- Undertake presence on construction site for full-time site inspections and supervision.
- Obtain and control periodical progress bills from sub-contractors and certify the quantity of work done.
- Undertake snagging inspection on practical completion of the works and manage the process to rectify any defects.
- Keep abreast with market trends to ensure adequate awareness and information about new solutions and materials.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Minimum 3 years of extensive practical experience in a similar role in Malta.
- IT Literate able to use Auto-Cad, experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Microsoft Projects.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Maltese language.
- Driving Licence B.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or equivalent with technical background.
WORKING TIME
Monday to Friday, from 07:00 till 16:00 with one hour break. Summer and Christmas shutdown.
