Malta Financial Services Authority is currently looking to recruit a Junior Business Analyst to join their team on a full-time basis.

About Programme Management & Quality Assurance (PMQ):
The Programme Management & Quality Assurance office is responsible for the setting up of a single, centralised framework, designed to ensure the implementation and delivery of key organisational projects and other change initiatives within the Authority. Programme Management is responsible for defining best practices within the Authority and aims to standardize quality assurance and change management activities thus introducing economies of repetition in the execution of projects. The Programme Management team is key towards ensuring the completion of projects within budget and in the established timeframes.

The Role:
The role is for a Junior Business Analyst to support the change management team by assisting in the gathering, documentation, and analysis of business requirements and processes. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, conducting research and analysis, and contributing to the development of solutions that improve business operations.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the analysis, evaluation and drafting of business requirements, processes, and related artefacts
  • Performing gap analysis of new requirements against the existing operational framework
  • Supporting in the drafting of test cases emanating from business requirements
  • Understanding stakeholders' requests and providing ongoing support through the project lifecycle, including UAT
  • Assisting in resolving issues and answering queries related to business analysis activities
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with business requirements and agreed specifications
  • Working on own initiative on a day-to-day basis with timely escalation of any issues that may arise
  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned by the line manager from time to time.

The role may require participation in off-site duties to attend meetings with external consultants or software vendors.  The role may also call for duties outside office hours to tend to critical issues or recover impacted schedules to ensure adherence to SLAs.

About You:
We are looking for candidates with a solid academic background in business, IT and/or change management or an equivalent professional qualification at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level.
If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but have at least five (5) years of relevant experience in a related environment, we would still be interested in speaking with you

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proficiency in business process improvement techniques, change implementation, requirements definition and stakeholder relationship management
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate with various team members in an effective manner
  • Eager to learn and adopt best practices
  • Ability to facilitate remote and face-to-face meetings
  • Good negotiation skills
  • A team player and actively promotes team spirit
  • Accurate and systematic in doing work.
