ESG & Decarbonisation Executive

The ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) & Decarbonization Executive is expected to take up the Group’s strategy relative to the ESG and Decarbonisation adaptation, lead and design the implementation plan over a set period of time including managing the Group’s efforts to improve its sustainability and reduce its carbon footprint.

The selected candidate will primarily be responsible for:

  • Taking up the Group’s strategy with respect to a holistic ESG and Decarbonisation and designing an implementation/action plan
  • Working with the Group’s leadership and stakeholders to define the Group’s sustainability goals and objectives and creating an action plan to achieve them
  • Monitoring and reporting on ESG performance, using metrics such as greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, and waste reduction
  • Engaging with stakeholders, including employees, customers, and investors on ESG issues and the Group’s sustainability efforts
  • Advocating for sustainable practices within the Group and working to educate others on the importance of ESG issues
  • Managing sustainability initiatives such as renewable energy projects, energy efficiency improvements, and waste reduction programs across all group operations
  • Collaborating with all Group departments ensuring that the required data is gathered and analysed in order to reach targets and drive the overall business strategy and plans
  • Maintaining and staying up to date with industry trends, regulations, and directives in order to integrate best practices into the Group’s sustainability efforts
  • Coordinate with HR, to ensure that the social aspect of the Group is aligned and integrated within the ESG programme
  • Assisting with the development of all diversity, social aspects and CSR initiatives undertaken by the Group.


The successful candidate should have:

  • A deep understanding of ESG and decarbonization issues
  • The ability to multitask and maintain focus on both the social and analytic aspects of the role
  • A technical (environmental Science, engineering, construction related), compliance or management qualification at MQF Level 5 or higher would be considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and preferably Maltese.
