AML & Compliance Lead

We are working with one of Malta's leading law firms who are looking to hire an AML & Compliance Lead who will manage complex and higher risk AML cases, provide oversight to juniors, deliver training and handle escalations.

What you'll be doing

• Manage a team of 2 and handle complex and high-risk client onboarding, periodic reviews, and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) assessments, including PEPs, high-risk jurisdictions, and complex structures.
• Apply and justify risk assessment methodologies, ensuring consistent, accurate, and well-documented risk ratings.
• Review and quality assure work completed by team members, providing constructive feedback and supporting their professional development.
• Maintain accurate customer information and risk data, ensuring compliance with ongoing monitoring and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, clients, the MLRO, and management to resolve complex CDD matters and escalate sensitive risk issues where appropriate.
• Serve as a key point of contact for assigned business areas, delivering coaching, supporting new joiners, and acting as the first-line escalation point.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in AML & Compliance
• Previous managerial experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality of output.

Education and Experience

• Degree Level of education (MQF 6)
• Any AML certifications is a plus
