Our client within the Banking industry is currently looking for a Sanctions Team Lead to join their team.
Duties include:
Providing support and guidance to all levels of the bank in handling sanctions related issues, advising on the risk-based approach.
Ensuring that unusual activity relating to sanctions is escalated appropriately.
Ensuring that there are effective sanctions and screening systems, processes, and policies in place across the bank.
Supervising a plan of regular relevant monitoring of the sanctions related activities undertaken within the bank and have accountability for the ongoing monitoring of sanctions systems and controls used throughout the bank.
Producing robust and meaningful management information and reports related to sanctions activity to senior stakeholders across all areas of the bank.
Ensuring that the Sanctions Policy / Procedure is kept up to date and mitigating current and emerging Sanctions risks. Sanctions Policy/Procedure is to be reviewed annually.
Skill-sets and Requirements
Minimum of 4-5 years of local experience in sanctions controls with a strong understanding of sanctions risks and drivers and be conversant with Anti-Sanctions regimes.
Previous experience in designing and implementing Anti-Sanctions controls with a strong focus on automation.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work effectively, quickly and with a high level of accuracy in a fast-moving and rapidly changing environment.
Education & Experience
MQF Level 6 Degree or higher in Criminology, Law, Banking or an ICA Diploma / ACAMS qualification in AML or Sanctions.
