Senior Financial Accountant

Our client, an aviation company based in Malta, is looking to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant to joing their growing team. 

Responsibilities 

• Liaising with the Head of Finance on the day-to-day operations.
• Maintaining accurate accounting records.
• Assisting in the month end process leading to the submission of accurate monthly management accounts in a timely manner.
• Responsible for the posting of invoices and journals in our accounting software tool.
• Preparation and submitting of VAT returns on a timely basis.
• Ensuring financial recording is in line with VAT legislation.
• Perform reconciliations related to the Finance department.
• Drafting of policies and procedures.
• Preventive Controls and Review Controls.
• Liaising with and supporting external auditors as may be required and assisting in the preparation of the financial statements.
• Assist the Head of Finance in the budgeting process.
• Coordinating with the Head of Finance in the implementation of new projects related to Finance.
• Assisting the Head of Finance and the team with any ad-hoc requests.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Able to work to meet agreed deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Microsoft Excel literate
• Experience in cost control, budgeting and reporting will be considered an asset
• Previous experience in Aviation industry will be asset
• Eye for detail

• Fully Qualified Accountant or last stages of their accounting qualifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
