Senior Accountant

Our client, a leading Pharmaceutical company is looking to recruit a Senior accountant to join their growing team.

Main responsibilities : 

• Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Collaborate with the finance team to support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Assist in the preparation of annual statutory audits, including drafting IFRS-compliant financial statements and supporting disclosures.
• Evaluate existing accounting processes and recommend improvements to systems, controls, and procedures.
• Supervise, mentor, and support junior accounting team members to ensure high-quality performance and professional development.
• Analyze and investigate expense variances, providing meaningful insights and reports to management.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring timely compliance with all applicable VAT regulations and reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting procedures.
• In-depth understanding of IFRS and hands-on experience preparing IFRS-compliant financial statements.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision), or similar ERP systems.
• Experience within a Big Four accounting firm and/or an international holding company structure will be considered a strong advantage.

Education and Experience

• Fully Qualified Accountant or in the process of obtaining an Accounting Qualification
