Our client, an accounting firm based in Gozo is looking to recruit a Junior Accountant to join their growing team.
Main responsibilities :
Maintain accurate financial records (invoices, receipts, payments)
Perform reconciliations and update general ledger entries
Ensure compliance with internal procedures and data protection rules
Assist with financial statements, management accounts, and client reports
Support preparation of VAT returns and apply correct VAT rates in line with Maltese regulations
Assist with payroll processing, including salary calculations, deductions, and contributions
Support payroll filings and compliance reporting
Maintain organised and up-to-date client records
Assist with general administrative tasks and internal operations
Provide ad hoc administrative and compliance support
Requirements
Previous experience working in a similar role will be considered an asset
Able to work independently while escalating more complex issues when needed
Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and its practical use
Education and Experience
In the process of obtaining an Accounting qualification
