Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead and oversee the finance function across a growing multi-entity group.

Main responsibilities :

  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day finance operations across the Group and its subsidiaries.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including reconciliations, invoicing, payments, and month-end close activities.
  • Prepare management accounts, financial statements, forecasts, KPI reports, and detailed financial analyses.
  • Monitor cash flow, budgets, expenditure, and overall financial performance to support business objectives.
  • Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary liaison with auditors, tax advisors, banking institutions, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure the timely preparation and submission of VAT returns, tax filings, and all statutory reporting requirements.
  • Support the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting, and long-term strategic financial planning.
  • Provide management with profitability assessments, financial risk evaluations, and insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial systems, controls, automation, and reporting processes.
  • Contribute to finance transformation projects and the standardisation of financial practices across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strengthen financial governance, regulatory compliance, and internal control frameworks.
  • Work closely with operational teams while supporting the growth, development, and performance of the finance function and its team members.

Requirements

  • Strong technical expertise in accounting, financial reporting, and financial management.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a senior finance or financial management position.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, financial reporting solutions, and operational finance platforms is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting requirements, budgeting, forecasting, financial controls, and compliance obligations.
  • Experience overseeing finance operations across multiple entities and/or jurisdictions will be considered an asset.

Education and Experience

  • Qualified and warranted Accountant in Malta.
