An exciting role has come up for a Group CFO with a renewable energy, transmission and hydrogen developer client of ours, having a growing portfolio of projects under development across multiple technologies. This role is being offered on an indefinite Part-Time basis, however, would also be open to Full-Time; salary would be commensurate to the position applied for:

Duties:

  • Provide professional leadership and technical guidance in identifying and evaluating financial risk factors in all activities and ensuring internal controls are functioning effectively to mitigate against risks that may arise
  • Plan and coordinate the timely preparation of annual work plans and budget estimates as well as quantify key activities to be undertaken by each department to achieve desired targets.
  • Oversee the overall management of day-to-day operations of the finance department, including accounting, audit and tax matters across all entities with the support of local teams and advisors
  • Manage banking services, reconciliation and custody of funds, securities and financial instruments, analysing financial information, as well as preparation of financial reports, and other reports to summarize current and projected financial position to ensure the availability of funds to implement planned activities.
  • Coordinate collections, and receipts, reconcile records, review outstanding payments, issue demand letters and institute penalties per prescribed regulations
  • Deliver presentations regarding proposed budgets and long-term financial planning models to the CEO and Board of Directors to clarify financial
    estimates and gain support for projected budget needs
  • Manage the preparation of tax returns to ensure compliance with periodic tax payments, information reporting and other statutory requirements as
    well as providing advice to the CEO and the Board of Directors for effective strategies for minimizing any tax liability
  • Review analysis of activities, costs, operations and status of ongoing programs to determine progress towards stated goals and
    objectives
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement of accounting systems and procedures that will enhance the
    quality, timeliness, and availability of financial information.
Skill-sets and Requirements
  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience gained as a CFO or Finance Director in a multinational company operating and overseeing entities in multiple jurisdictions, primarily in the oil & gas, chemicals, or renewable energy sectors
  • Must be available to travel
Education & Experience
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent membership to a relevant professional body will be a valuable addition.
  • Considerable knowledge of IFRS including financial forecasting and monitoring of budgets
