An international IT company is currently on the lookout for a Assistant Finance Manager to join their team.
Duties include:
Develop an understanding of the business being supported, being proactive to learn about products/services/markets
Develop relationships with key stakeholders
Be the primary producer of MI, data analysis and other reporting used for the leadership team for the business areas being supported
Prepare commentaries including financial and commercial insights
Support the tracking and reporting of all performance KPIs - especially those that have a P&L impact
Support standardisation and efficiency in use and production of MI in general, challenging exceptions
Support Deal Board and other pre-engagement forums, especially around engagement budgeting and forecasting
Conduct in-flight commercial reviews to gain a deeper understanding of margin leakage and commercial learning points
Be responsible for revenue recognition reviews of engagements and work hand-in-hand with Engagement Leaders/Managers to ensure adjustments are done
Delivery of business plans, budgets, and forecasts across the business areas and products
Manage planning and analysis, consolidation and reporting of outputs
Prepare analytical reviews and actuals vs. forecast/budget commentary
Execute processes to ensure that the accounts accurately reflect the financial performance and position of the business
Review cost management processes to ensure good controls are in place around spend
Be the point contact for cost approvals and coding. Investigating and escalating as required
Ensure that the accounts accurately reflect the financial performance and position of the business units. Scrutinise the underlying data and manage accruals accordingly
Help to ensure Finance processes and policies are adhered to. Challenge deviation and always be forward thinking about improvements
Manage and review of Working Capital KPIs
Monitor the business actions on WIP and debt items and highlight Engagement Leaders/Managers underperformance to ensure it is escalated
Play a role in the broader finance community, including active participation in meetings, forums and projects
Be an advocate for change programmes delivered by Finance / Business Services, including automation tools, self-service, standardisation and any other changes in ways of working
Work closely with the Finance Lead, finance team in Malta, FBPs and the service centre
Requirements
2-5 years of local experience working in the accounting field
International exposure is a must
Ability to work with financial models and apply the assumptions to forecasts/budgets
Good knowledge of project and cost accounting, including capacity/absorption
Fluency in both written and spoken English
Education and Experience
Fully Qualified through ACCA or similar
