We are currently seeking a driven and experienced Financial Controller to join our growing team at Stivala Group. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to take the next step in their career within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Take a leading role in overseeing and managing critical financial functions, including management accounts, budgeting, cost control, payroll reporting and analysis, cash flow management, debtor collections, and creditor payments.
· Develop and enforce financial control policies and procedures to protect company assets, minimise risk, and ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
· Conduct ongoing evaluations of internal controls, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective corrective actions.
· Liaise with consultants and external auditors to support audit processes and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
· Oversee cash flow management and ensure supplier credit terms are optimally maintained to achieve favourable purchasing conditions.
· Track financial performance against budgets and forecasts, investigate variances, and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
· Lead the month-end and year-end closing procedures across multiple entities, including account reconciliations and the preparation of accurate financial reports.
· Maintain and enhance financial reporting systems, including accounting software, to increase operational efficiency and accuracy.
· Provide leadership, support, and development opportunities to the finance team, fostering growth and continuous improvement.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as operations, sales, and quantity surveying to offer financial insights and strategic guidance.
· Stay up to date with evolving accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
Requirements:
· A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting or financial control role
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
· Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
· A proactive, collaborative approach with the confidence to lead and drive change
