A reputable client of ours specialising in the Insurance sector is looking to onboard a Deputy Financial Controller to join their team of professionals:

Duties:

  • Manage all finance and accounting operations in collaboration with the Outsourced Finance Managers.
  • Coordinate, obtain and reconcile monthly data including statements of accounts from partnering intermediaries.
  • Manage the preparation of, and the distribution of timely monthly management accounts and reports.
  • Coordinate the preparation and reconciliation of the reinsurance statements in accordance with the requirements of each applicable treaty.
  • Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting deadlines and tax filings.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of regulatory reporting including Quarterly Reporting Templates (QRTs) and National Specific Templates (NSTs) in a timely manner for Holding, Group, PCC, Core and cell entities.
  • Managing the interim and year-end audit procedures, the preparation of annual financial statements and liaising with the auditors as required.
  • Assist with developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Comply with all general IFRS and Solvency II requirements and in particular to liaise with the actuarial function to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including but not limited to the calculation and monitoring of
  • Regulatory and Solvency capital Requirements in line with regulations and approved Board Policies.
  • Assisting in the analysis of financial data and Monitoring of internal controls.
  • Assist in the compilation of cash flow projections and liquidity assessments on an ongoing basis.
  • Assist with developing plans and projections for financial growth.
  • Managing of Cash flows and liquidity on an ongoing basis.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an accounting and finance role.
  • Experience with insurance related IFRS requirements is a must (including IFRS 17).
  • Exposure to solvency II requirements.
Education and Experience
  • In possession of a University degree in Accounting or an equivalent professional qualification.
