A local group of companies is currently on the lookout for an Accounts Payables Supervisor

Duties include: 

  • Coordinate with territory managers and COO that the day-to-day invoices are processed within the company IT System as per approved guidelines to ensure the financial records are maintained in an effective, up to date an accurate manner.
  • Supervises the payable clerks in performing the reconciliations
  • Review the reconciliations and ensures that each supplier statement is reconciled regularly, and differences are acted on.
  • Through the Creditors List, monitor that each supplier is paid as per agreed credit terms.
  • Approval of prepared payments by team in line with monthly/weekly budgets through the SEPA module and follow up with Treasury and CFO to ensure payments are released on time.
  • Support Cost Controller, on a weekly and monthly basis coordinate with the Treasury Controller for preparation and submission of the Group cash flow.
  • Ensures that supplier concerns are addressed properly in timely manner.
  • Ensures smooth coordination with the operations staff.
  • Assist the Cost Controller in the maintenance of the Suppliers Master Data in the company Financial IT System and make sure that any reported changes are updated immediately.
  • Maintain the petty cash system.
  • Make sure that each request for reimbursement is properly documented.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents related to the Finance Department with respect to invoices and payments documentation.
  • Prepare the necessary data for timely submission of the Month, Half Yearly and Annual Financial Statements.
  • Prepare necessary data for the Audit fieldwork in the preparation of the Annual Audit.
  • During the financial audit’s, coordinates with the Cost Controller and Financial Manager for the timely submission of information requested by the auditors.
  • Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. 
  • Addresses performance issues and make recommendations for personnel actions.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of local experience in Accounts Payables
  • Good leadership skills
  • Fluency in both English and Maltese
Education and Experience
  • A-Level standard of education
