Thomas Smith & Co. Ltd in Malta is currently looking to recruit an Accounts Officer to join their team on a full-time basis.

Join our team as an Accounts Officer and play a pivotal role in supporting our finance department.

Job Summary:
In line with our expansion plans, we are looking to recruit a full-time Accounts Officer to join our ever-growing team.
You will typically handle basic accounting tasks such as data entry, invoice processing, and reconciling financial records.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all bookkeeping functions, including bank reconciliations, posting of invoices, and maintaining accounts receivable/payables
  • Process invoices accurately and promptly, collaborating with vendors and preparing vendor reconciliations
  • Handle detailed reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records
  • Prepare and process payments to suppliers, ensuring transparent and efficient financial transactions
  • Assist in the monthly client billing process, issuing invoices accurately and promptly
  • Liaise with Auditors, the Tax and VAT Department, and MBR
  • Assist with month-end related tasks, such as reconciliations and VAT calculations
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team, including filing documents and maintaining records of financial data
  • Manage emails related to financial matters and input bank entries
  • Assist with payroll and create financial statements and reports as required
  • Input bank entries and perform bank reconciliations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to a collaborative work environment.


Qualifications and skills:

  • Minimum A Level Standard in Accounting
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken
  • Familiar with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
  • Knowledge of accounting software will be considered an asset (e.g., Sage, SAP)
  • Highly IT literate with strong Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Able to work full-time during office hours, Monday to Friday.
