Accounting Assistant (m/f/d)

Merkur Group in Malta is currently looking to recruit an Accounting Assistant (m/f/d) to join their team on a full-time basis.

Job Role:
We are currently on the lookout for an Accounting Assistant (m/f/d) to join our offices in Sliema, Malta to assist in our external as well as internal activities.

Responsibilities:

• As an Accounting Assistant (m/f/d), you will assist in preparing the monthly and annual financial statements and management reports
• You will assist in preparing various annual tax and quarterly VAT returns
• You will be interacting with both vendors and customers, completing payment runs, calculating sales invoices and monitoring receivable amounts
• Furthermore, you will support colleagues in both B2B and B2C financial accounting as well as the local and international management ensuring group standards and improving and further developing financial accounting processes
• Additionally, you will ensure compliance with legal requirements and internal guidelines as well as carry out projects and special tasks
• Also, you will be responsible for ad-hoc reports and queries to the CEO and international partners.

Qualifications:

• A qualification or working towards a qualification in Finance or accounting
• Hands-on approach and eye for detail in FinTech or iGaming
• Basic Understanding of Maltese Tax and VAT
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English, German language is a plus
• Demonstrate good business acumen and understanding of KPI Reporting
• Accurate and efficient
• Possess problem-solving and analytical thinking
