Our Client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join their team in Malta. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and supporting business growth through accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage and process invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with company records to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other statutory filings in compliance with Maltese tax laws.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with management to prepare budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights into financial performance.
  • Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of Maltese accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English; knowledge of Maltese is an advantage.
  • Personal Attributes: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
