Set up in 1979 as Pearl Paints Limited and subsequently acquired by Macpherson (UK), which in turn was acquired by Akzo, the Dutch chemicals giant. The Company was then acquired by Calco Limited in 1993. The Company is currently involved in the manufacture of paints for the retail, D.I.Y., and industrial trade markets, producing under license a full range of high-quality decorative coatings for Crown Paints UK Limited (Est. 1777). The product range available includes leading brands, such as Macpherson®, a versatile range of paints and ancillary products, Crown®, top quality wall, ceiling, and Trim paints, and Sandtex®, a highly durable exterior masonry coatings range. The Decorative Coatings activities are located within Malta’s top Industrial Estate of Bulebel, in Zejtun, and operate from a 4000m² production and warehousing facility, last refurbished in 2020.
