Role Overview
Our Client is seeking to appoint a strategic and commercially focused Head of Product to take ownership of its product portfolio within the business software, fintech, and AI space. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving product direction, market growth, customer adoption, and commercial performance. This role requires an experienced product leader who can bridge business and technology functions, identify new opportunities, guide product evolution, and ensure alignment between customer needs, market trends, and organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy: Develop and implement product strategies that support business goals, strengthen market positioning, and drive long-term portfolio growth.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage the complete product lifecycle, from initial concepts and prioritisation through development, launch, customer adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Commercial Performance: Monitor and enhance product profitability, revenue potential, customer retention, and market expansion by identifying opportunities to increase business value.
  • Market Analysis: Evaluate customer requirements, competitor activity, industry developments, and regulatory changes to ensure products remain relevant, competitive, and aligned with market expectations.
  • Product Governance: Establish performance indicators and reporting frameworks to measure product success, customer satisfaction, operational effectiveness, and commercial outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate closely with Technology, Delivery, Sales, Marketing, Support, and Customer Success teams to ensure effective execution of product initiatives.
  • Team Management: Lead and support implementation consultants, subject matter experts, and assigned resources to achieve product and business objectives.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Define product positioning, target audiences, value propositions, and launch approaches in collaboration with Business Development and Marketing teams.
  • Sales Enablement: Provide sales teams with the necessary product knowledge, market insights, supporting materials, and strategic guidance to strengthen commercial opportunities.
  • Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, acting as a senior point of contact for strategic discussions, escalations, demonstrations, and feedback gathering.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Manage relationships with suppliers, technology partners, and industry stakeholders while identifying opportunities for collaboration and portfolio enhancement.
  • Product Delivery: Work alongside technical teams to define requirements, oversee delivery priorities, and ensure products meet business, technical, quality, and regulatory expectations.
  • Project Oversight: Support the delivery of strategic and complex projects by contributing to planning, resource coordination, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Executive Reporting: Provide leadership teams with insights, recommendations, and updates relating to product performance, opportunities, challenges, and future priorities.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

  • Education: A Master’s Degree (MQF Level 7) in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development, or a related discipline is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in product management, technology solutions, software development, fintech, business systems, or a related field.
  • Language Skills: An excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate complex product concepts clearly and effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, customers, and senior management.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Good understanding of software solutions, digital products, enterprise systems, fintech environments, and emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions.
  • Commercial Awareness: Strong understanding of market development, pricing considerations, customer value creation, and business growth strategies.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, influence decision-making, and drive initiatives across different areas of the organisation.
  • Organisation: Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities, complex projects, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Self-Motivated: A proactive and results-oriented professional with the drive to identify opportunities, take ownership, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to assess challenges, develop solutions, and support continuous improvement.
