Systems Engineer

Melita Ltd in Malta is looking to recruit a Systems Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis. 

Would you like to be part of the Core Networks team responsible for the correct installation, operation, and maintenance of various servers within Melita's technical operations center and applications, used to deliver Melita’s services?

This is a highly technical role where you will have a good input in the direction and development of the company’s network. Ideal candidates to have at least 2 years experience in a telecommunications environment. However fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

• Degree in a Telecommunications related field;
• Preferably have a minimum Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) qualification.

Skills/Knowledge:

• Extensive knowledge of Internet & TCP/IP technologies;
• Extensive knowledge of various operating systems including Linux and Windows;
• Extensive knowledge of virtualization technologies (Vmware), monitoring technologies and tools;
• Extensive firewalling knowledge and security awareness;
• Good understanding of Linux based email technologies and solid understanding of the subject;
• Good understanding of Linux based DNS software and solid understanding of the subject;
• Good understanding of web and FTP services including Apache and IIS Skilled in programming especially scripting in Python/Perl;
• LPIC Linux Certification;
• Good communication skills and a dedicated team player;
• Good organisational and supervisory skills;
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision;
• Good interpersonal skills;
• Flexibility to work irregular hours when the need arises.
