Job Description:
The Institute for Education is seeking Lecturers in several areas to offer their services to lecture/train participants following programmes/courses offered by the Institute. Areas include It-Tagħlim tal-Malti, Computer Education, Electrical and Electronic Components, Engineering Materials, English language teaching.

Remuneration:

• The Expert shall be remunerated €35 per hour of delivery including follow-up assessment.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The Contractee will provide services for and on behalf of the Institute when and as requested by the Institute.

• The Contractee shall deliver sessions according to the Contractee’s availability. The Contractee should ensure that the work being developed is relevant to the Maltese educational context in line with Government policy. The Contractee will liaise with and be answerable to the Senior Manager Programme Development.
• The Contractee shall assess the individual participants with a diversity of tools against the outcomes set per Module in the MFHEA application. The Contractee will give feedback to the participants and the results shall be reported in soft copy in a template developed by the IfE. A final report including inter alia the number of participants, results, and comments/recommendations is to be drawn up by the Contractee at course completion and is to be presented to the IfE.

Selection Criteria:
Experts shall be selected by an ad hoc Selection Board through an assessment of the information obtained from their Europass Curriculum Vitae, scanned copies of original documents listed in the eligibility criteria section. Applicants may also be asked to attend an interview and produce original documents for verification purposes. The Selection criteria shall give weight to the:

• Information in the motivation letter needs to include:
  • Knowledge of Education policies;
  • Expression of Educational vision;
  • Knowledge of area of specialisation;
• Qualifications in the area;
• Experience in education and teaching;
• Experience in adult/teacher training.

Selected applicant/s will enter into a contract for service for a maximum of three (3) years or a total value of four thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine Euros (€4,999), whichever matures first. In the event where the expert is deemed to be unsatisfactory or not up to the required standards, the Contract shall be terminated and the Expert shall forfeit all remuneration due.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants are to be in possession:

• An MQF Level 7 in the area applied under together with 10 years relevant teaching / work experience; Or
• An MQF Level 8 in the area is applied together with relevant work teaching/experience.
