EF International Language School in Malta is currently looking to recruit an English Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis.

If you have a TEFL, or CELTA, DELTA or Trinity (or equivalent) we would love to hear from you! 

The Ideal Teacher:

  • Has a Bachelor’s degree as a minimum
  • Is TEFL or CELTA certified or equivalent
  • Has excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching and inspires students to learn
  • Is sensitive to the needs of international students
  • Demonstrates a high level of customer service
  • Has strong administrative and organisational skills


To be successful in this job:

  • You will plan and deliver General English and Special Interest (SPIN) courses as directed by the DOS or ADOS
  • You will plan and deliver lectures on a rota basis
  • You will choose appropriate supplementary material and topics for your classes. These must at all times demonstrate sensitivity to the multi-cultural and multi-ethnic student population in EF schools
  • You will cover absent colleagues as requested by the DOS or ADOS
  • You will participate in peer observation programmes
  • You will attend and contribute to staff meetings (weekly)
  • You will attend and contribute to all school staff meetings (three times per year minimum) which may take place after school hours
  • You will actively participate in CPD sessions (to be held regularly – at least monthly)
  • You will hold tutorials with students every 4 weeks
  • You will input grades for students in iTracker on a fortnightly basis
  • You will write student reports when required
  • You will administer tests to the class when necessary to mark them and return all documents to DOS or ADOS
  • You will be jointly responsible for the tidiness of the communal areas and specifically the staff room
  • You will be an ambassador for EF and its products, methods and materials
  • You will maintain necessary paperwork as directed by the school administration and carry out administrative duties accordingly
  • You will maintain accurate electronic registers and input student attendance daily into the EF database in accordance with EF policy
  • You will report any student who is absent from class for 2 consecutive days to the Academic Department when they return, in accordance with EF policy
  • You will comply with all health and safety regulations as directed by the Health and Safety Officer
