We are looking for a Purchasing Officer to join our client's team. As a Purchasing Officer in the automotive sector, you will play a vital role in procuring goods and services necessary for the operations of automotive vehicles and components for the various operations of the company. Your expertise in procurement processes, supplier management, and industry regulations will be instrumental in driving efficiency and achieving the organisation's strategic objectives.


ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is Malta's largest importer and supplier in the automotive industry and is located in Marsa.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the operational, and quality assurance teams to understand their procurement requirements for automotive components, materials, and services.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and vendors of automotive parts, raw materials, and equipment, evaluating their capabilities, quality standards, and pricing.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluations, regular meetings, and resolution of any issues or disputes to maintain a reliable and efficient supply chain.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimise costs, reduce lead times, and mitigate supply chain risks for critical automotive components and materials.
  • Prepare and analyse procurement reports, including cost savings initiatives, supplier performance metrics, and purchasing trends, to support decision-making and strategic planning.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing roles, with a strong understanding of the automotive industry.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional demeanour.
  • A good working knowledge of the Maltese language.

EDUCATION

A recognised degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field; advanced degree or certification is a plus.

WORKING TIME

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 08:00 to 17:00.
