Our client is looking for a Purchasing Manager, who would be responsible for the strategic and operational management of procurement activities supporting shipbuilding, ship repair, and refit projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Manage the full purchasing cycle from requisition to purchase order issuance.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, payment conditions, and supplier agreements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers and strategic partners.
  • Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, cost, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure timely procurement for ongoing projects.
  • Analyze purchasing costs, budgets, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage sourcing activities for materials, spare parts, equipment, and technical services.
  • Ensure purchased goods and services comply with technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Lead and develop the procurement team.
  • Prepare periodic reports on procurement KPIs, supplier performance, and cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable regulations.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, or similar role.
  • Previous experience in the marine, shipyard, industrial, oil & gas, offshore, or construction sectors is highly desirable.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Ability to review and understand technical documentation and specifications.
  • Experience in budget management and cost analysis.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and procurement software.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational abilities.
