Experienced PHP Developer (Malta)

eBusiness Systems is a technology-driven company providing cutting-edge IT solutions to businesses across various industries. We are looking for a PHP Developer with at least 3 years of experience to join our development team and contribute to building, maintaining, and improving our web applications.

As a PHP Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing web applications using PHP and related technologies. You will work closely with other developers, IT professionals, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.

• Develop, maintain, and optimise web applications using PHP frameworks (e.g., Yii2, Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter).
• Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
• Design and implement secure, scalable, and efficient database structures using MySQL or other RDBMS.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop custom software solutions.
• Keep up to date with the latest PHP developments, frameworks, and security best practices.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in PHP development.
• Proficiency in PHP and at least one PHP framework (e.g., Yii2, Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter).
• Strong experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL database management.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks (e.g., Vue.js, React, or Angular is a plus).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
• Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, or GitLab).
• Knowledge of Linux environments, Apache/Nginx configurations, and shell scripting is an advantage.
• Experience with unit testing and debugging.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Fluent in English (Maltese is a plus).
