N1 Interactive Ltd in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Domain Manager to join their team on a full-time basis.

Overview:

The Domain Manager is responsible for overseeing the management, registration, and maintenance of the organization’s internet domain names and related digital assets. This role ensures that domains are secure, renewals are managed, DNS configurations are optimized, and the domain infrastructure supports business continuity. The Domain Manager works closely with the IT and Product departments to ensure the proper alignment of domain strategy with broader business goals. This position will report directly to the CTO and is preferably based in Malta, with the option to work remotely if necessary.

In addition to managing the organization's primary domain portfolio, the Domain Manager will also be responsible for overseeing domain access and configurations across multiple countries. This includes ensuring that local domains adhere to country-specific regulations, coordinating with regional teams to support localized content, and managing international domain registrations. The Domain Manager must ensure compliance with each country's domain registration policies while optimizing DNS settings to ensure fast and reliable access for users in different geographic locations. This global perspective is essential to maintaining the company's online presence and ensuring seamless access for international audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Domain Management:

  • Oversee the registration, renewal, and expiration of domain names
  • Manage domain transfers and ensure proper WHOIS information is maintained
  • Ensure timely renewal of domains to avoid service interruptions
  • Create, maintain, and update documentation of all owned domains, including tracking expiration dates and ownership.

DNS Management:

  • Configure and manage DNS settings for corporate websites, email, and other digital services.
  • Troubleshoot DNS-related issues and work with vendors for timely resolutions.
  • Optimize DNS configurations to enhance website performance, security, and reliability.

Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure domain security by implementing measures such as domain locking, two-factor authentication, and secure WHOIS information.
  • Monitor for domain-related security threats, such as phishing attacks or domain hijacking attempts.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with marketing and brand teams to ensure domains are aligned with the company’s brand strategy and marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure domain and DNS configurations meet business requirements for applications, email systems, and websites
  • Act as a liaison between external registrars, hosting providers, and third-party vendors.

Reporting and Strategy:

  • Provide regular reports on domain portfolio status, including upcoming renewals, domain utilization, and associated costs.
  • Recommend strategies for domain acquisition, consolidation, or disposal in line with business goals.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices related to domain management, DNS technologies, and security.

Requirements: 

  • Strong understanding of DNS configurations, domain registration processes, and WHOIS protocols
  • Familiarity with domain security best practices (SSL certificates, DNSSEC, etc.)
  • Experience using domain management platforms and tools (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare)
  • Basic understanding of networking principles and web hosting environments.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Zero downtime caused by domain or DNS mismanagement
  • Timely renewal of all company-owned domains without lapses
  • Implementation of security measures to protect domain names
  • Efficient resolution of domain-related support tickets or issues.
